🎵 How It Started
DoBiDoBiDo Music began with a simple realisation: one of the most effective ways to learn a language is through a song you cannot get out of your head.
🌍 The Catalogue
More than 70 original songs. Over 10 genres. One human lyricist. The catalogue explores daily life, human values, philosophy, literature and the evolving relationship between human creativity and algorithmic music. Written by Samuel Minionis—“The Soul in the Machine”—the songs travel across genres from folk and rock to tango, blues and soul. Their influences range from Aesop’s fables and the Stoics to the Romantics and Lao Tzu. The lyrics, concepts and creative direction are human. The music and soundscapes are produced through algorithmic composition.
⛓️💥 Combinatorial Composition
Algorithmic and combinatorial composition has a history stretching back centuries. In eighteenth-century musical dice games, chance selected from prepared musical bars to generate complete, coherent pieces. The best-known example, the Musikalisches Würfelspiel, K. 516f, is traditionally attributed to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, although its authorship remains uncertain. DoBiDoBiDo Music continues this experimental tradition through contemporary synthesis and algorithmic composition—guided throughout by human lyrics, original concepts, musical judgement and creative direction. Chance generates possibilities. Human imagination gives them meaning.
📚 Songs That Teach
DoBiDoBiDo Music also creates and curates songs for Snappy Idioms Dot Com, an accelerated English-learning platform founded on the same creative philosophy. Its learning system uses stories, images, mnemonics and music to make language memorable. Music provides the rhythm that supports pronunciation, recall and more natural spoken English. March to the beat towards mastery.
