Ayedee Vale

About the Artist

AYEDEE VALE Ayedee Vale is the human voice of DoBiDoBiDo Music. The rest of the roster are characters. Ayedee is a presence. She stands in the room, closer to the microphone than to the mascot, and the songs pass through her rather than around her. Her name comes from Aoede, one of the three elder Muses of Greek myth and the one who gave song its name. With Melete, practice, and Mneme, memory, she completes the oldest account we have of how a song gets made. Something is remembered, something is practised, and something is finally sung. Ayedee is that idea spoken aloud and spelled the way it sounds, so the voice can be found as easily as it is heard. The words are human. The music is composed algorithmically. Both statements are true at once, and neither cancels the other. Chance generates possibilities. Human imagination gives them meaning.
